Nicole Porlier has Neurofibromatosis (otherwise known as NF). NF is a genetic disorder where tumors grow on the skin and wrap themselves around various nerves of the body. NF affects one in three thousand babies. In her book Bumpy Roads Have Soft Shoulders: Living with NF, she shares her story living with this condition. She shares the struggles and challenges she’s been faced with throughout her childhood and young adult life as a result of NF. She hopes to make readers look at life in a different way and recognize that no matter what the circumstances, this should not stop anyone from living life to the fullest.
